What will you do

Have you ever wondered what Arequipa’s countryside is like and what places surround the White City? This panoramic bus tour will take you to some of the most iconic destinations around Arequipa. From viewpoints overlooking the Misti Volcano to colonial-era buildings and rural areas, this tour offers a comfortable and complete way to explore the region’s natural and historical beauty.

Itinerary

  • Our tour begins with a warm welcome from our staff, who will pick you up from your hotel (near the Plaza de Armas) between 8:30 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. (first group) or between 1:30 p.m. and 1:50 p.m. (second group), and bring you to our transport.
  • Once aboard the bus, we’ll start our journey through the most iconic streets of Arequipa and its impressive Plaza de Armas, where we’ll admire striking neo-Renaissance architecture.
  • Next, we’ll head to the Yanahuara viewpoint, where we’ll enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the imposing Misti Volcano.
  • We’ll then proceed to the Carmen Alto viewpoint, where you can see an incredible view of the cities of the Chilina Valley and other volcanoes guarding the city of Arequipa.
  • After taking the classic photos, we’ll head to the Arequipa countryside. In this part of the tour, the landscape becomes much greener, and we’ll make a brief stop at the Incalpaca Zoo, where you can observe camelids such as llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas.
  • After spending time with these animals, we’ll visit the Founder’s Mansion, a 16th-century building that retains beautiful decorations from the 17th and 18th centuries.
  • Next, we’ll go to our second-to-last destination: the Sabandía Mill, built in the 16th century, where you’ll learn about traditional techniques used to process wheat using the power of water.
  • Finally, we’ll visit the Paucarpata district, where you’ll learn a bit more about Inca culture through its terraces, which are still preserved and support part of the White City of Arequipa.
  • After exploring much of Arequipa, we’ll return to the historic center, where our staff will bid you a warm farewell, concluding our Countryside Tour on a panoramic bus.
