You’ll visit plantations, participate in traditional processes, and enjoy unique tastings. Itinerary

Day 01

  • Very early in the morning, our team will pick you up between 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. to take you to our tourist transport, which will be ready to start the tour.
  • Once aboard, we’ll begin our journey to the Ipal Ecolodge, which takes approximately 4 hours. Along the way, we’ll pass through the Sacred Valley and Abra Málaga, the highest point of the route.
  • At Abra Málaga, after three hours of travel, we’ll make a short stop to stretch and take some photos of the stunning cloud forest views.
  • Then, we’ll continue for one more hour to the Ecolodge, where we’ll receive a warm welcome and a delicious breakfast made with local products.
  • Once settled in, we’ll start our adventure by learning about the coffee production process and its derivatives. You’ll also participate actively and enjoy a tasting.
  • At noon, we’ll take a short break for lunch at the same lodge. The meals are made with local ingredients, helping us recharge for the rest of the experience.
  • After lunch, we’ll take part in the coffee peeling and roasting process. To finish the day, we’ll visit some tea plantations, another common crop in this area.
  • Traveler, if you’re a bird lover, we offer an optional night walk through the forest to spot owls, which often appear at that hour.

Day 02

  • This is the second day of our Coffee and Chocolate Route tour. We’ll start with a delicious breakfast made from local products, hopefully accompanied by the song of some birds—an ideal way to start the day.
  • With our energy restored, we’ll head to the Maranura estate, where you’ll see large cocoa plantations. There, you’ll learn everything about this fruit—the base of chocolate—and uncover the secrets of its artisanal production.
  • After this experience, we’ll return to the Ipal Ecolodge. On the way, we’ll stop at a modern chocolate factory where you’ll learn about the final stage of the cocoa process and enjoy a delicious tasting.
  • Back at the lodge, a tasty lunch will be waiting for us. Afterwards, we’ll have time to pack our things and get ready for the return journey.
  • After two days full of adventure and the flavors of coffee and chocolate, we’ll return to Cusco. The trip will take about 4 hours. Our staff will drop you off at your hotel, marking the end of our two-day Coffee Route tour.
