What will you do

To start the activities you will only need to confirm your arrival time in Puerto Maldonado. We will arrange transportation and pick up upon arrival. After that, we will have to make a short trip to our agency and you will be able to accommodate some belongings. It is advisable to do this tour with little luggage. Precisely at the agency, you will be able to accommodate and carry only what is necessary. From this point begins a short 2 hour trip to the Tambopata River.

In the Tambopata River begins a new adventure as we will navigate this beautiful river. Also, we will be able to appreciate much of the variety of fauna and flora of the place. It is important to pay attention to the guide's indications. Our destination will be a lodge type camp where we will have lunch. This first day we will make a brief introduction of the place and the rest of the activities that we will have during these 3 days.

These three days will be comfortable thanks to our lodge, where we will be able to spend the 2 nights. The activities are distributed so that we have the best experience and more time in the adventures. For example, visiting the Dosel Tower, navigating the Tambopata River, the night walks and the spectacular visit to the macaw clay lick. This way, everything is ready to start with this trip.


Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival and ascent to Dosel Tower

  • The safety of our visitors is important to us. Therefore, we start the service with the pick up from your arrival in Puerto Maldonado.
  • This service will have to be coordinated in advance.
  • On arrival in Puerto Maldonado, we can accommodate our luggage. It is advisable to take only what is necessary for the 3 days and 2 nights.
  • After settling our luggage, we start the trip to the banks of the Tambopata River.
  • We begin a brief navigation to the lodge and camp where we will spend 2 nights.
  • After settling our belongings in the rooms we start with the activities.
  • After lunch, we start the afternoon with a visit to the Dosel Tower, which offers views of the whole place.
  • The Dosel Tower is ideal for bird watching. We will be there for most of the afternoon.
  • At dusk, we will make a tour in search of some nocturnal animals. These animals are harmless.
  • We will have an exquisite dinner and we will spend the night in our corresponding room.

Day 2 - Sailing to the Macaw Clay Lick

  • We will start this day early in the morning. From 4:30 in the morning we will set sail to the Macaw Clay Lick.
  • We will sail for 1 hour and 30 minutes. During the trip we will see the famous capybaras or ronsocos.
  • Another variety of animals that we can only see during the trip are the sachavacas and the jaguar, among others
  • In our boat we will wait for the arrival of the macaws and parrots to the place.
  • We can also find other birds and animals, which consume the clay of the place for its properties to eliminate toxins.
  • Before returning it is possible to appreciate all these birds in their natural state and flying very close to the boat.
  • In the afternoon, we will have lunch.
  • After that, we will start with an ethnobotanical tour. There we will learn the mysteries of the medicinal plants and more details of the flora of the place.
  • In the afternoon, we will hopefully see more birds and some species of monkeys. Also, a great variety of fruit trees.
  • At night you can choose to do night tours or not. This must be coordinated with the guide.

Day 3 - Return

  • We start this last day with a good breakfast.
  • Before making the return trip to Puerto Maldonado, you can ascend again to the Dosel tower.
  • It is possible to see a great amount of birds, it is an ideal last activity to generate memories with photographs and more.
  • The return to Puerto Maldonado will be made by the same route we arrived.
  • In this sense we will have a last navigation and then a minivan ride.
  • In Puerto Maldonado, you will pick up your belongings. After that we will assist you to the bus terminal or airport.
