Itinerary

  • The tour starts with pickup from your hotel in Chiclayo, between 10:30 and 10:50 a.m. From there, we'll head in tourist transport to Sipán, a small town located about 30 km from the city (about 45 minutes away).
  • Our first stop will be the Huaca Rajada Archaeological Complex, a site full of history. Here, the famous tomb of the Lord of Sipán was discovered—a major Moche ruler who lived around 250 A.D.
  • During the visit, you’ll see an exact replica of his tomb and the incredible discoveries found with him: gold and silver artifacts, seashells, turquoise, and more. You'll also learn why he was buried with eight people, a dog, and two llamas—all sacrificed to accompany him into the afterlife.
  • After this fascinating experience, we’ll continue to the city of Lambayeque. We’ll pause for a delicious typical lunch at a local restaurant (lunch not included).
  • Then, we’ll visit the impressive Royal Tombs of Sipán Museum, one of the most modern and remarkable museums in Peru. Its pyramid-shaped design will catch your eye right away. Here, you’ll see the actual tomb of the Lord of Sipán, along with many pieces of Moche pottery and jewelry.
  • If you still have energy, you can also visit the Brüning Museum, which houses an incredible collection of items from the Moche, Cupisnique, and Lambayeque cultures.
  • To end the day on a high note, we’ll return to Chiclayo. The tour ends around 6:00 p.m., with drop-off at your hotel door.
