Did you know that just a few minutes from Tarapoto hides one of the most visited waterfalls in northern Peru? The adventure to Ahuashiyacu not only leads you to a nearly 35-meter-high waterfall, but also offers high jungle landscapes, a short walk in nature, and a refreshing swim you won’t forget.

Itinerary

We start the wonderful day in Tarapoto city, where our staff will pick you up from your hotel around 10:00 a.m. and transfer you to the tourist vehicle.
Once ready and comfortable in the vehicle, we head to the entrance control checkpoint for the waterfall, located about 17 km away, a trip of approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
Before arrival, we make a brief stop at a viewpoint, where you can enjoy incredible views of the high jungle in the San Martín region.
Upon arrival at the checkpoint, we get off the vehicle to register our entry.
From here, we begin a walk of about 15 minutes, during which you can admire the local flora and fauna. It is recommended to bring a camera to capture the journey.
At the end of the walk, we reach the beautiful Ahuashiyacu waterfall, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip and observe its impressive nearly 35-meter drop.
After enjoying the site, we return along the same trail to our vehicle, and then head back to Tarapoto city.
After about a 30-minute ride, we drop you off at your hotel’s door. With a warm farewell, the tour concludes.
