Our tour starts with a departure from Tarapoto heading to the village of San Antonio de Cumbaza, from where we take a hike of approximately two hours to the Huacamaillo waterfall, crossing rivers and exploring the jungle. Upon arrival, you can enjoy its natural pools and its 20-meter waterfall; after spending some time in this beautiful place, we return along the same route until the experience concludes in the city.

Itinerary

  • On a very pleasant day in the city of Tarapoto, our staff will arrive at your hotel around 9:00 a.m. (please be ready 10 minutes before). With a warm welcome, they will accompany you to our tourist transport.
  • Once comfortable and ready in the vehicle, we will begin our trip toward the village of San Antonio de Cumbaza, a journey that will take approximately 25 minutes.
  • Upon arrival at the village, we will get off the transport and head to the entrance checkpoint for the Huacamaillo waterfall. Before this, you can take advantage of buying some snacks and water, which are necessary for the hike.
  • From this point, we will take a hike of approximately 2 hours until we reach the Huacamaillo waterfall. Along the way, we will cross a river, so it is highly recommended to bring sandals to avoid getting your shoes or sneakers wet.
  • After an amazing hike through the Peruvian jungle, we will finally arrive at the Huacamaillo waterfall, which has a drop of approximately 20 meters and forms pools ideal for a refreshing dip.
  • After enjoying this beautiful spot, we will begin the return journey on the same route. Along the way, we will stop to enjoy our box lunch, which includes typical regional ingredients.
  • After recharging your energy, we will continue the return trip until we reach our tourist transport. From there, we will head back to the city of Tarapoto, where you will be dropped off at your hotel around 4:00 p.m. With a warm farewell, our tour will be completely concluded.
