What will you do

Did you know that just a few minutes from Tarapoto hides a medieval-style castle and a community that still preserves Quechua-Amazonian traditions? This tour invites you to discover little-known corners of the region, between surprising architecture, recent history, and living culture that still beats in every corner of Lamas.

Itinerary

On a very warm day in the city of Tarapoto, our staff will come to your hotel to pick you up at 3:00 p.m. (it is recommended to be ready 10 minutes earlier). After a warm welcome, we will take you to our tourist transportation.

Once ready, we will begin our trip to the city of Lamas, located about 30 minutes from Tarapoto, covering a distance of approximately 20 kilometers.

Upon arrival in Lamas, we will get off the transportation and head to the Lamas Castle, a beautiful medieval-themed construction, built in 2005 as the residence of Italian entrepreneur Nicola Felice. Today, this place is open for tourism.

Nearby is the Chanca Museum. If you wish, you can enter by paying an additional cost of 9 dollars (optional).

Then, we will head to the traditional Wayku neighborhood, a community that still preserves its Quechua-Amazonian heritage, customs, and living culture. During the tour, you will find local artisans offering their souvenirs, which you can purchase if you want (optional).

After learning about the history this place guards, we will board our tourist transportation again to return to Tarapoto. The return will take approximately 30 minutes, arriving around 6:30 p.m. Finally, our staff will drop you off at your hotel, ending the tour with a warm farewell.
