Itinerary

  • On a spectacular day in the city of Tarapoto, our staff will approach you minutes before 8:00 a.m., warmly welcome you, and accompany you to our tourist transportation.
  • Once ready, we will start our trip on the Fernando Belaunde Terry highway to reach the Shapaja community, approximately 30 minutes away.
  • Upon arrival, we will get off the vehicle to visit the main plaza, where you can take pictures and learn more about the history of the place, as its population has Quechua ancestry.
  • Then, we will head to the control post to enter the Pucayaquillo waterfall. From there, we will start a hike of approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
  • During the journey, you will enjoy incredible views of a corner of the Peruvian jungle where the beautiful Pucayaquillo waterfall is hidden.
  • Upon arrival, to make the trip more exciting, you will have the chance to take a refreshing dip in its crystal-clear green waters that fall from nearly 20 meters high.
  • After enjoying the waters, we will return by the same path, this time heading to a countryside restaurant where we will savor a delicious lunch prepared with local products, accompanied by a beautiful view of the Huallaga River.
  • After recharging your energy, we will head back to the tourist transport at around 3:30 p.m. to return to the city of Tarapoto. We will arrive around 4:30 p.m., when our staff will kindly say goodbye, drop you off at your hotel, and conclude the tour.
