The South Valley tour is one of the most traditional that can be done in Cusco. In this tour you can see beautiful landscapes and especially, constructions that were carried out before the Tawantinsuyo, during the Inca period and also colonial constructions. What will you do

We will be picking up all the tourists who will do this half day tour. This service will start at 08:30 in the morning and will last 30 minutes. In this sense, at 9:00 in the morning we will begin the trip in the direction of the South. The trip will be divided into three sections, the first one will be to the archaeological site of Tipón, this trip will take about 50 minutes. In Tipón, we will see several constructions alluding to water, one of the main deities for the inhabitants of Tawantinsuyo. The second trip will be to the archaeological park of Pikillaqta. Travel time will be less than an hour. In Pikillaqta, we will take a tour of one of the oldest citadels and probably the link between the Incas and their ancestors. We will know the streets and some temples of this citadel. Finally we will visit the San Pedro Apóstol de Andahuaylillas Temple, where we will be able to see one of the most beautiful churches in the world. After that we will start with the return to Cusco.


Itinerary

  • We will start with the pick up from the hotels.
  • The pick up will be in a period of 30 minutes that starts at 08:30 in the morning.
  • Once we have the whole group ready, we will start the trip towards the South.
  • The first destination we will visit will be Tipón.
  • Tipón is known as one of the samples of the technological advance that the Incas had.
  • In Tipón you can see an excellent mastery of water, to create channels and aqueducts that work until today.
  • After the tour with our guide, we will return to our transportation. This time we will make the trip to Pikillaqta.
  • After approximately 50 minutes of travel we will be able to visit the entire archaeological park of Pikillaqta.
  • After touring the streets and some of the archaeological remains of this place, it's time to make the trip to Andahuaylillas.
  • In Andahuaylillas we will visit the church of San Pedro Apóstol.
  • This church is one of the most beautiful in the whole world. The decorations are mostly bathed in gold leaf.
  • They also have beautiful paintings, frames and other carvings typical of the Andean Baroque.
  • After this tour, we will return to Cusco before 2:30 p.m. In this way, the South Valley tour concludes.
